Twitch Service Status Update

Official update: Algochat has discontinued its Twitch service until further notice due to rising system costs and recent Twitch integrity changes. Learn why the service was suspended and what to expect moving forward.

Twitch Service Status Update

Hello everyone,

After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue our Twitch service until further notice. This choice wasn’t easy, but it reflects the real, growing costs required to keep the system stable under our current Twitch service user numbers.

Why is the service discontinued?

Twitch’s recent updates to message validation and account checks significantly increased the complexity and cost of maintaining a reliable service. While the API remains functional, the new system aggressively flags accounts that don’t meet its evolving criteria — often resulting in shadowbans, where messages appear to send successfully but are completely invisible to others.

To protect users from unreliable message delivery, our monitoring systems intervened and automatically suspended Twitch operations.

What does this mean moving forward?

Our team has explored multiple solutions, including redesigning how we refresh and validate accounts to comply with Twitch’s updated requirements. However, the continuous need to fetch and maintain “fresh” data for each account has proven resource-heavy and not currently sustainable.

Until we can offer a stable, cost-efficient, and scalable approach, the Twitch service — will remain offline.

We understand this may be disappointing, and we truly appreciate your patience and support. Our focus remains on delivering a dependable, high-quality experience across all platforms we support. As soon as we have a viable path forward for Twitch, we’ll share an update.
